  • The Role – Security Supervisor

    Hourly Rate: £16.59

    Location: City of London

    Shift Pattern: 07:00 – 19:00

    Reporting to: Key Account Manager

     

    Atlas Security is the security arm of the Atlas FM Group and was launched in 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, employee-owned organisation delivering premium security services. As a High-Level Security Supervisor within a prestigious City of London environment, you will lead the on-site security team, set exceptional standards of professionalism and service, and act as a trusted operational point of contact for the client, tenants, visitors and key stakeholders.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Lead, supervise and motivate the on-site security team, providing clear direction and maintaining consistently high standards of conduct, appearance and performance.

    - Act as the senior operational security presence on site and a key point of contact for the Client, building management, tenants, contractors and other stakeholders.

    - Deliver a visible, professional and customer focused security service appropriate to a premium corporate environment in the City of London.

    - Monitor team performance, attendance, punctuality, uniform standards and service delivery, addressing issues promptly and escalating where appropriate.

    - Ensure effective access control, visitor management, contractor management and delivery procedures, maintaining the integrity and security of the premises at all times.

    - Oversee CCTV, alarm, radio, key management and other security systems, ensuring they are operated correctly and any faults or concerns are reported and followed through.

    - Maintain a strong security presence through regular internal, external and perimeter patrols, identifying vulnerabilities, hazards, suspicious activity and opportunities for improvement.

    - Take control of security incidents and emergencies, coordinating the initial response, protecting life and property, preserving evidence and escalating in line with site procedures.

    - Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, evacuations, suspicious items, security breaches and other incidents calmly, professionally and in accordance with agreed procedures.

    - Produce clear, accurate and timely incident reports, daily occurrence records, handovers, investigations and management information to a high professional standard.

    - Ensure all post instructions, assignment instructions, risk assessments, emergency procedures and company policies are understood and consistently followed by the team.

    - Support the induction, coaching, mentoring and ongoing development of security officers, identifying training needs and maintaining operational competence across all posts.

    - Carry out regular checks, audits and quality inspections, recording findings and implementing corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.

    - Work closely with reception, facilities management, engineering, cleaning and other service partners to provide a coordinated and seamless building experience.

    - Liaise professionally with the Police, emergency services and relevant local authorities when required, ensuring appropriate information is communicated and recorded.

    - Promote a strong health, safety and security culture, proactively reporting hazards, near misses, defects and emerging risks.

    - Maintain confidentiality, discretion and professional judgement when dealing with sensitive information, senior stakeholders and security-related matters.

    - Support business continuity, emergency preparedness and site exercises, including drills, scenario testing and lessons-learned reviews.

    - Demonstrate ownership of the security operation, identifying practical improvements to procedures, deployment, technology and customer experience and raising recommendations with management.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced, credible and highly professional Security Supervisor who can lead from the front in a demanding corporate environment. You will combine strong operational security knowledge with excellent people leadership, communication and customer-service skills. You must be confident making decisions, managing incidents and engaging professionally with senior client representatives while maintaining a calm and approachable presence.

    Essential Experience, Skills & Behaviours:

    - Proven supervisory or team-lead experience within corporate, commercial property, financial services or another high-profile security environment.

    - A valid SIA Front Line licence is essential.

    - Excellent leadership skills with the ability to set standards, coach others, manage performance and build an engaged, professional team.

    - Strong operational knowledge of access control, CCTV, incident response, patrol management, alarms, key control and emergency procedures.

    - Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce professional incident reports, emails, handovers and management updates.

    - Confident and professional communication skills, including the ability to engage with senior clients, tenants, visitors, contractors and emergency services.

    - Sound judgement and decision making under pressure, with a calm, measured and solutions-focused approach to incidents.

    - High standards of personal presentation, integrity, discretion, reliability and attention to detail.

    - Good IT literacy and confidence using security systems, reporting platforms, Microsoft Office and other site technology.

    - A strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities within a security and corporate workplace environment.

    - Fire Marshal, IOSH, CCTV or other relevant security/management qualifications are advantageous.

    You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to provide satisfactory screening and vetting documentation in accordance with company and industry requirements.

    This is a senior front-line role for someone who takes pride in leading a high-performing security team and delivering an exceptional service. You will be expected to demonstrate ownership, professionalism and sound judgement while representing both Atlas Security and the Client to the highest standard.
