We’re looking for a Resident Building Services Engineer to join our team at a key site in Basingstoke. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being site‑based, building strong relationships, and taking pride in maintaining a well‑run, high‑profile building.

🛠️ About the Role
As a Resident Building Services Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for day‑to‑day Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with the PPM schedule, as well as delivering a professional and responsive reactive maintenance service across the site.
You’ll also step into a senior position when required, supporting and supervising other engineers and subcontractors in the absence of the Contract Manager or Operations Director.
✅ Key Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for completing PPM tasks in line with SFG20 and the annual planner across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC systems, including:
- Working on FCU, VRF and VAV systems (electric and pneumatic)
- Maintaining AHUs, including filters, motors, belts and control equipment
- Inspecting and servicing LTHW, HWS and CHW circulation pumps
- Completing weekly sprinkler and fire alarm testing
You’ll also maintain water systems, including:
- Calorifiers / water heaters and associated safety devices
- Pressure vessels
- Completing HSG274 water hygiene tasks on closed loop and domestic systems
Additional duties include electrical maintenance, such as lighting and emergency lighting, LED and component replacement and small installations, alongside basic plumbing tasks such as control valves, taps and toilet systems.
All works will be carried out in line with required training, competency checks and qualifications.
⚡ Reactive Maintenance
Reactive works form a key part of the role. You’ll:
- Make contact with the client or site contact on arrival
- Assess the task and any Health & Safety considerations
- Complete repairs where safe and within competency
- Keep both the client and Head Office informed through to job completion
📋 Administration & Client Experience
You’ll complete clear and accurate engineers’ reports, ensuring sufficient detail is provided to support purchasing, returns and follow‑up actions. You’ll manage company tools and resources responsibly, comply with site‑specific and company procedures, and maintain good standards of housekeeping.
As a representative of Atlas, you’ll play an important role in building positive client relationships by delivering a consistently high standard of service, recommending improvements where appropriate, reporting potential opportunities to the Customer Account Manager, and escalating any issues professionally.
